Where is Canada heading?

Canada’s government declared a climate emergency in June of 2019. 384 local jurisdictions across the country have followed suit. Internationally, 1,800 regional and national governments in 33 countries have done the same thing.

Many countries that made those commitments are finding their Net Zero targets extremely difficult to reach without spending vast sums of money and creating dictatorial regulations. But most Western nations have already spent significant funds on mitigation, resulting in skyrocketing electricity prices. And as long as India and China continue to build coal-fired power plants, our efforts will make essentially no difference to global greenhouse gas levels, let alone the climate.

Climate scientists are increasingly admitting that the threat is much less dire than originally claimed. After all, the supposed global average temperature has risen only slightly more that 1 degree Celsius since 1880. Sea level continues its gradual rise at about 7 inches per century. The records show that extreme weather is occurring less frequently and polar bears are thriving.

Nevertheless, Canada and nations around the world are trying to achieve Net Zero by 2050:

This calls for the rapid elimination of fossil fuels, replacing them with so-called “renewable” energy such as wind and solar power.
The government estimated this to cost Canada $125 to $140 billion every year.
This will cause vast changes to our energy infrastructure and soaring electricity prices.

Since 2015, the federal government has spent over $200 billion on climate change. Federal and provincial governments will spend $476 billion over 2020 to 2030 period...this is $12,000 per person.

Taxes are high enough...do you want to give $12,000 MORE to the government?

And for what? Is the climate really at risk of being damaged by our carbon dioxide emissions?
